Your board, in the browser

GridHive's web app runs on your own computer, not on our servers: your terminals and code never leave it. Start GridHive, then open the board in any browser on this computer.

1Start GridHive

Open the GridHive app. Then click the tray icon (Windows) or menu bar icon (Mac) and choose Open in browser. Your board opens in your default browser, signed in.

$ npx gridhive

Starts the board and opens it in your browser. Already running? The same command just opens it again.

2Come back any time

After the first time, this browser remembers your board: bookmark 127.0.0.1:4317 or use Open my board above. Install it as an app from the browser's address bar for its own window and fewer shortcut clashes.

Why the first step? The board can type into your terminals, so it only opens with a secret token that GridHive hands to your browser. Other websites can't reach it.

Watching someone else's board?

Shared sessions open from the link you were sent (gridhive.dev/s/…) and need no install. Sign in with GitHub or Google and you follow along live.
